Walker + Wheelchair Bags from the Las Sendas Quilt Guild

Two of our fabulous pattern designers, Cheri Maniz and Audrey Good of Cheri Good Quilt Design, are active members of the Las Sendas Quilt Guild. Audrey sent us a photo of two walker/wheelchair bags they whipped up out of some leftover fabrics they had from their Points on the Table table runner pattern (that hung in our booth in Pittsburgh)! The fabrics they used for both their table runner and these bags come from our new Tequila Sunset collection. These ladies put every last scrap to good use, don’t you think?

The walker/wheelchair bags that were made recently by the Las Sendas Quilt Guild will be given to VA Hospital in Phoenix and the Arizona State Veteran’s Home, also in Phoenix. The pattern they used is from Tolen Treasures, which you can find online for free (just click here)!

The club, which has only 35 members, is incredibly generous! In the last year alone they donated 83 pillowcases to Children’s Crisis Center and the American Cancer Society, 44 tote bags to Children’s Crisis Center, 15 quilts and 5 pillows to Ryan House (a children’s hospice), 31 quilts to local family and women’s shelters and 45 pet beds to local pet shelters and $623.00 (the entire admissions/donations to their annual quilt show) to Sunshine Acres Childrens Home. WOW! Way to go, Las Sendas Quilt Guild!

Thanks for sending this project in to us, Cheri and Audrey! And THANK YOU to you and your guild for everything you do for your community!

Your walker bags are awesome, so colorful and creative! Thanks for the link to my blog, Tolentreasures, for the pattern! Hopefully others will be inspired to make them, they are always so welcome anywhere they are taken! Keep up the great work!

Is it possible to purchase one for my walker?

    1. Katie says:

Hi Linda, we don’t sell the bags or the patterns to make the bags, but you can reach out to the designer who may have samples available! 🙂 Try contacting her through her facebook page (here).
