Stained Glass Mystery Quiltalong with BeaQuilter | Week 1
We’re excited to present a Mystery Quiltalong with one of our fabulous ambassadors, Bea of BeaQuilter! Let’s jump right in – take it away, Bea!
Thanks for having me! This quilt was so much fun to put together. I hope you’ll love yours as much as I do mine when you’re finished.
The “fun” part of this quilt is that you use coordinating fabrics, and it doesn’t really matter where the fabrics go on the block! Just try not to have too many directional fabrics, as there’s a lot of twisting and turning. 🙂
The quilt, “Stained Glass”, measures 36″ x 36″ finished.
– 1/2 yd of 8 different “matching” fabrics (you will use 7 fabrics for the quilt and one for the binding)
– 1 1/4 yd for backing
– 40” x 40” batting
The fabrics I used for this project are Island Batik’s Happy Go Lucky fabrics.
Tune in next week on Thursday when the real fun begins – cutting!
Bea was introduced to quilting in 2004 at a church class, but it took a few years for her to get hooked. Her passion took hold when she started making charity quilts and entering quilt shows. In 2009, Bea’s husband bought her a longarm machine, and she began taking custom orders. She, her husband, and their three children live in a small town in North Carolina. Bea has won numerous ribbons at county fairs, quilt shows, and guild shows, and she is also an avid blogger at www.beaquilter.com and has had work published in numerous magazines!
