Spring 2015 Market Recap
It’s been a while since we returned from Market, but with some website changes and updates, we haven’t yet had a chance to get our blog post recap up! Here it is, finally! 🙂
After a bit of a bumpy ride, our market trailer arrived in Minneapolis a day late (shout out to our driver, Gina, who drove through ALL night to make it just in time)! We unloaded and setup as quickly as we could and were nearly wrapped up by the time our Schoolhouse sessions rolled around. Phew!
Our Schoolhouses were great. We had a chance to preview all of the new fabrics and quilts we’d be showing in our booth, and Fourth and Sixth Designs and Bella Nonna Quilt Design both were able to showcase their new collections for Island Batik. Leah Day had a completely full house, sharing information on her Dancing Butterflies FMQ Block of the Month quilt. Here’s a shot of Leah Day, Kathy, our Vice President of Design Services, and Megan Cook of Bella Nonna Design Studio hauling quilts, catalogs, and giveaway goodies up to our Schoolhouse room!
We rushed back to the booth after Schoolhouse to hang all the quilts before we ran off to Sample Spree. Thanks to the extra help of Connie Kauffman, one of our lovely Ambassadors who also happens to be a quilt designer and published author, we were able to get (almost) everything in place before the madness of Sample Spree began.
We set up for Sample Spree just in time. We grabbed a quick shot of Connie, our head of customer service, Kristen, and Leah, before the shoppers came running in!
After a few hours of shut eye, we were back, bright eyed and bushy tailed (and full of caffeine) to start the show! We had a blast catching up with long-time customers and meeting lots of new shops. Many of our lovely designers stopped by to say hi, too. Here are a few of the photos we were able to snap throughout the show.
Brenda from Stitches from Heaven and her quilt Last Minute Fling featuring the County Fair fabric collection
Margaret from Eye of the Beholder Quilt Design and her quilt Marrakesh featuring the Bar B Q fabric collection.
After three days of awesome meetings and appointments, Market came to a close. It always seems to fly by much too fast. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello throughout the show! We’ll see you next season! 🙂
