The 2018 Island Batik Ambassadors have done an outstanding job of meeting each monthly challenge and frequently taking it to the next peak. They are all seasoned sewing travelers and will be amazing guides for the Getaway journey.

    I have used Island Batiks in 2 projects so far, 1 was the challenge quilt for my guild and it got a first place prize in our guild’s show in the miniature quilts category. The second was for a Block of the Month challenge based on color. I won a 10″ squares pack from a prior Island Batiks event and it was such a pretty blue-green I had to use it as my focus fabric for the block.

  68. I didn’t notice your question initially , The only opportunity I have had to use Island Batik fabrics were a few tiny pieces given to me by a friend. I used them in some very sweet Christmas ornaments for our kids. I like batiks, especially for applique, but have begun to use some more generally in my quilts.

    I have used and always collect Island batiks fabrics for projects!! When I walk into a quilt shop in the batiks section I pull the top of the bolt out and look for the Island Batiks label. I love Island Batiks colors, quality, and design.

    I haven’t made a Batik project in several years. I made a diaper bag for a good friend’s daughter but was disappointed when she never used it and it disappeared….never to be seen again. It was a beautiful blue batik and if I have known she didn’t like it I would have made her another and given the bag to my daughter who really loved the bag. I love batik and would love to start a few new projects.

    I discovered Batiks a few months ago, and I feel like a pirate who found her treasure. Batiks are like jewels with all their brilliant colors! Took me a while before I would even use them. I needed the perfect project for my jewels!
