Island Batik currently employs over 200 artisans and workers who transform our top quality base cloth into the spectacular designs and colors that Island Batik is well known for. All of the fabric production is done in our own manufacturing facility in Bali, in a small village where men and women of the community manage all aspects of the production process. Team members perform the stamping of wax onto the fabric, dyeing, washing and drying, passing down the batik artistry from generation to generation. The fabric is laid out in the rice fields, where strong sunlight is essential to ensure deep color and true color fastness. Quality assurance, folding, bolting and packaging of the cloth are the final stages of production before the fabric is shipped to our distribution center in Carlsbad, California.
