Quilted In Honor Sponsors

In 2008, AccuQuilt branched from its parent company, AccuCut to cater exclusively to quilters. They wished to create a company culture that truly reflected the diversity of quilting.

AccuQuilt employees were part of this creative movement. Many were seasoned quilters and if not already bitten by the quilting bug, they soon would be, as employees were asked to quilt for two hours each week.

AccuQuilt recently moved into a new castle in Omaha, Nebraska. It was ever quilter's dream come true with a museum-quality gallery of rotating fabric arts exhibits and state-of-the-art quilting studio.

Sisters Logo

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and inspire the public about the art of quilting and to benefit the school and community groups of Sisters and Central Oregon.  We do that through a series of annual events, most notably the largest outdoor Quilt Show in the world held on the second Saturday of July.  The show began when the founder, Jean Wells Keenan, hung a dozen quilts made by her students outside her quilt shop on a Saturday in July.  A few more ladies brought their quilts to show, then a few more and a few more.  The show became an annual event, hosted by the East of the Cascades quilt guild.  As the show gained in size and popularity it outgrew the resources of the guild.  In 2003, an Executive Director was hired to manage the show and new events were added including the Around the Block Quilt Walk and Fiber Arts Stroll, Wish Upon a Card and other fundraisers for local causes.

Quilty is a weekly quilting show offered online that seeks to inform and inspire the next generation of quilters. Hosted by Mary Fons, daughter of well-known and widely respected quilt educator and author Marianne Fons, Quilty delivers great quilting instruction with humor, zest, and respect for the art of quilting.

Many of today's newer quilters come to the craft with little to no knowledge of quilting basics; the home economics classes our mothers took were replaced by computer classes when we were in school. Therefore, Quilty will teach rudimentary quilting skills in addition to more advanced techniques, in hopes that after seeing just one episode, every viewer will be excited to make a quilt of her own.

With style, class, and a sense of humor, Quilty aims to ignite new passion for the American quilt.
