ll of the hand paintings fromIsland Batik are individually handpainted batikby artists skilled in the ancient craft of the wax batik process. The painted panels and mini Batiksets are commissioned from a group of skilled and talented batik artists on the Island of Java.

Over 80 themes make up the substantial assortment of batik panels which are available in sizes of 18”x18”, 18”x27” and 18”x54”.

Nine individually hand painted batik blocks make up the mini Batik sets. Each set has a theme such as, flowers, butterflies, etc.  These themes are originally sketched and colored by Moira.  Then the village artists make the hand painted batik samples for approval.  Once the artist’s work has been approved, he will be the only person who paints that particular theme. A mini batik block is around 4½ or 5” square with over 45 motifs to choose from.  These popular sets are well suited for quilts and wearable art.  Delivery on painted panels and mini batik sets is about one week since they are usually in stock.  Also, painted panels and mini Batik sets are always available for reorder.
